Pre-K Program
Building Blocks Children's Center provides a Pre-k program which will get your child ready for Kindergarten. During their time in this program, your child will learn numbers, letters, site words, beginner reading skills, obtain writing skills, and focus on social-emotional skills, along with the foundation needed for their next year of learning. We also have a graduation ceremony each year for all our students moving on to Kindergarten!
What They’ll Learn
• Social Skills:
we will help your child learn to communicate with others using toys, drama, art, and music. Weekly themes will help reinforce this learning.
• Fine Motor Skills:
we will teach your child how to write their name, along with the alphabet and basic words.
• Emotional Skills:
we will help your child cope with separation from you, using positive reinforcement which helps them understand their emotions.
• Cognitive Skills:
we will create a daily and weekly curriculum which will establish patterns of learning.
• Self-Help Skills:
we will teach your child how to wash their hands, clean up after snacks, use manners, put on their shoes and jacket, feed themselves, and use the toilet.
